Primary duties: Agricultural specialists are professionals who advise and assist farmers and agricultural companies. They may have extensive knowledge about various topics related to farming like crop cycles, soil fertility, crop rotation, soil and water problems, best practices in cultivation and harvesting, animal husbandry and nutrition. Work involves responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the administrative and managerial functions of a research farm with major subdivisions such as dairy crops or beef cattle and supervising and participating in experimental farm programs and projects requiring the implementation of complex research procedures. Work is performed under general direction of a station superintendent and/or academic superior.
