As a PGT Arts Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. You will provide subject-specific instruction in arts-related subjects, fostering intellectual and social development while ensuring a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans in accordance with curriculum guidelines and school policies, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive instruction using a variety of teaching methodologies, techniques, and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a conducive learning environment by enforcing classroom rules and procedures, managing student behavior effectively, and promoting mutual respect and cooperation among students.
  • Individualized Support: Provide individualized support and assistance to students as needed, including academic remediation, enrichment activities, and counseling to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to facilitate student learning and development, participate in curriculum planning and development, and contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in education, enhancing teaching effectiveness and promoting personal growth.
  • Parental Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, academic performance, and behavior, including parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and other means of communication.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field (Master’s degree preferred)
    • Proven experience in teaching arts-related subjects at the secondary level
    • Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    • Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
