Role

  • Oversee a billing team of 3 plus more in the future.
  • Take the lead of the entire billing function to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of customers. Manage all aspects of billing in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure all customer contracts and any required supporting documentation is logged and reviewed, personally reviewing any complex agreements.
  • Help resolve client-billing questions and/or disputes, escalating as needed.
  • Work closely with the revenue team to ensure they have the data needed for monthly revenue recognition.
  • Work closely with the AR/Collections team to ensure all invoiced amounts can be collected
  • Develop and maintain billing policies, procedures & documentation to ensure audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency of billing processes and procedures to enhance the speed, quality, efficiency, and productivity of the team
  • Mentor and manage the billing team to help ensure professional growth.
  • Support audit requests for areas of responsibility
  • Partner with teams across the organization to efficiently bill clients for emerging products.
  • Understand the entire order-to-cash process.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Put in place completeness checks and other reconciliations to ensure all customers have been billed accurately.
  • Prepare Monthly/Quarterly/Semi-annual customer billing trend analysis to spot gaps, if any.
  • Perform special projects and analysis as needed.
  • Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of billing experience with no less than a year of managing a team.
  • Knowledge of SaaS billing platforms and other tools
  • Experience with subscription-based SaaS billing, software license billing, and usage-based billing
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel functionalities
  • Experience with billing automation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, proactively identify issues/opportunities, and recommend actions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and decipher contracts.
