The Role Responsibilities

Business

Good understanding of Banking and Financial Industry.

Processes

  • Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable and report all suspicious transactions to the Unit Manager.
  • Managing the team as per Departmental Operating Instructions Manual and KCS within the timeliness and accuracy standards specified.
  • Sound knowledge of banking, accounting, FXMM operations, SWIFT, reconciliation and compensation process as per ISDA.
  • Ensure cross-rotation within the section to provide greater flexibility of operations and provide wider exposure to staff.
  • Continuous improvement in productivity to the standards prescribed for the processes from time to time.
  • Establish sound escalation reporting procedures in line with the Market Operations escalation policy.
  • Compliance with all applicable Rules / Regulations and Company and Group Policies.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Global markets operation and products.
  • Improve levels of staff engagement through focused training.
  • Should be self-starter and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Team management experience and ability to work in shift.
  • Ability to work in different shift and stressful environment.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and execute accurately.
  • Hand own experience of TLM, Opics and Murex.
  • Organisation and communications skills.
  • Risk awareness and RCA preparation.
  • Strong Quantitative/ analytical skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

Risk Management

  • Ensure 100% compliance at all times to the group’s risk management framework as applicable.
  • Compliance with all applicable Rules/ Regulations of Company and Group Policies.
  • Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable and report all suspicious transactions to the Unit.
  • Timely escalations and resolutions on confirmation outstanding etc as per Escalation policy.

Governance

  • Comply with all the group standards, policies, procedures and guidelines as applicable and values of the Bank at all times.
  • Adhere to Group Code of Conduct at all times.
  • In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and / or activities are ceased.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
  • Lead the FMO to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; the Right Environment
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

  • FMO handles clients from various financial sectors, representative in group and country.

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed “Here for good” and Group’s brand and values in Financial Market Operations.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor ’s degree - preference on Commerce and Financial services

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of FX Cash, Spot, TOM, Swap and futures.

Money Market

  • Overnight Depo / loan, Interest calculation process and Evergreen deposit.

Derivatives Product

  • CCS, IRS, CDS etc.
  • Understanding about SWIFT MT 300,320,202COV, 202, 103,199,299, 191, 190, 940, 950, 900, 910, 292 and 192 formats, uses, construction of message and interpretation of data, etc.
  • Understanding about Nostro, correspondent banking and Cash recon.
  • Sundry and Suspense understanding and Internal GL recon.
  • Basic understanding of confirmation and settlement process of the above said products.
  • Good communication skill.
