Job Title: Centre Head – Sun Foundation World Class Skill Development Centre (Patiala)

Job Overview: As we continue to impact lives positively, we are seeking a skilled Centre Head to lead our efforts in transforming communities through skill development. The Centre Head will play a pivotal role in the success of our Skill Development Centre in Patiala. He/She will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the centre, delivering effective training programs, and facilitating job placements for students. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of skill development initiatives and government programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Centre Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of centre operations to ensure smooth functioning, including facilities management, administrative tasks, and record-keeping. Implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Executive Planning Spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive, long-term strategic vision for the skill centre, aligning it closely with the goals and priorities of the Sun Foundation. Cultivate a culture of innovation, excellence, and inclusivity within the academic community, fostering an environment which leads to the development of 21st Century Skills among trainees as well as trainers.

Fiscal Management: Take charge of budget development and management, ensuring meticulous fiscal responsibility and the efficient allocation of resources to support the centre’s operations and initiatives. Proactively seek out and cultivate funding partnerships from CSR and government-targeted programs to bolster financial support for the skill centre’s endeavours.

Team Management & Leadership: Act as the primary liaison between management, faculty, staff, and students, facilitating transparent communication channels and providing regular updates on the performance and strategic direction of the skill centre. Uphold strict adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements governing skill centres and placement initiatives, ensuring accountability and transparency in all organizational practices.

Training Program Leadership:Recruit, train, and supervise a team of instructors/trainers and support staff. Ensure implementation of high-quality training programs of National Skill Development Cooperation, aligned with industry requirements and the needs of the target population. Monitor training delivery to ensure effectiveness, engagement, and student satisfaction. Continuously evaluate and improve training methodologies to enhance learning outcomes. Placement Assistance: Establish strong partnerships with employers, industry associations, and job placement agencies to facilitate job placements for students. Provide career counselling and support services to students to enhance their employability skills and job readiness.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the center’s performance against established targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Collect and analyse data on trainee enrolment, attendance, placement rates, and other metrics. Reporting will be to CEO Sun Foundation.

Stakeholder Coordination:Coordinate with National Skill Development Centre (NSDC), Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), and other stakeholders to align centre activities with government initiatives and policies. Collaborate with government departments, NGOs, and community organizations to leverage resources and support for skill development programs.

Community Engagement:Promote the skill development program within the local community through outreach activities and awareness campaigns. Collaborate with local organizations, educational institutions, and industry partners to identify potential trainees. Conduct Mobilizing activities and enroll students onboard for different batches.

Qualifications:Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Computer Applications (MCA), Social Work (MSW), or any other relevant field. Excellent proficiency in computer skills and MS Office applications. Minimum of 5 years of experience in skill development, with a proven track record of managing projects like NULM, PMKVY, or DDU-GKY in roles such as Centre Head, Manager, or Quality Manager. Strong communication skills, with the ability to correspond effectively with government departments and stakeholders. Experience in team handling, monitoring, budget management, and record-keeping.

Salary:The salary of selected candidate will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and quality of the candidate.
