The Area Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with irrigation dealers and promoting the sales and service of irrigation systems. This role involves identifying potential customers and farmer clusters, conducting product demonstrations, providing technical support, and achieving sales targets. The Area Manager will work closely with the team and collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent concept selling skills, as the irrigation system product is new in the market.Responsibilities
  • Generate leads through local marketing activities and effectively convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Build brand visibility through visits and local sales promotional activities, including roadshows and product launches.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with irrigation dealers in the assigned territory.
  • Achieve sales targets for the assigned territory and contribute to the overall sales goals of the organization.
  • Plan, forecasted, and report sales performance in the assigned territory, including regular updates on lead generation, conversions, and revenue.
  • Monitor and report the activities of competitors to the concerned Manager.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to dealers and end customers regarding product specifications, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify business opportunities and optimize sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including marketing and operations, to ensure efficient order processing, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge, industry trends, and technological advancements related to irrigation systems and agricultural equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of customer orientation and ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, or M. Tech.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the agricultural or irrigation industry.
  • Familiarity with tractor dealerships and their operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Hindi and the local language to effectively engage with dealers and customers.
  • Ability and desire to sell, with a high level of confidence and good persuasion skills.
  • Good commercial acumen and the ability to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet stretch targets.
  • Ability to conduct roadshows and product launches to create brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel within the assigned territory as needed.
  • The results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications.
  • A valid driver’s license.
