Business Analyst

Key Responsibility

Requirements Gathering:

  • Elicit and document business requirements through interviews, surveys, workshops, and other techniques.
  • Analyze and prioritize business needs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Identify and engage with stakeholders, including business users, subject matter experts, and project teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of requirements.

Requirements Analysis:

  • Analyze and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Decompose high-level business requirements into detailed user stories or use cases.

Process Modeling:

  • Model and document current-state and future-state business processes using tools such as flowcharts or business process modeling notation (BPMN).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze and define data requirements, including data sources, data mappings, and data transformations.
  • Collaborate with data stakeholders to ensure data integrity and quality.

Use Case Development:

  • Develop detailed use cases to describe system interactions and behavior.
  • Define and document user acceptance criteria for use cases.

Prototyping:

  • Create prototypes or wireframes to visually represent proposed system functionality.
  • Gather feedback on prototypes to refine and enhance requirements.

Change Management:

  • Assess the impact of proposed changes and work with stakeholders to manage and communicate changes effectively.
  • Ensure that changes align with project objectives and business needs.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements documents, specifications, and other artifacts.
  • Keep documentation up-to-date as requirements evolve.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the testing team to develop test cases and validate that the implemented solution meets business requirements.
  • Participate in the resolution of defects and issues identified during testing.
