Business leaders don’t really know how they will get there. And the very first step, of getting emissions measurement right, is hard.

We are looking for a Decarbonisation Specialist (Agriculture and Land Use)to align our product offering with the Forestry, Land use and Agriculture (FLAG) standards and best practices, from emissions measurement to science-based target setting and decarbonisation strategies and actions.This role will report into the Head of Sustainability and help shape Terrascope’s product and features by sharing feedback from the frontlines and incubating new ideas

In this role you will:

    • Contribute sector-specific expertise to the product roadmap and strategic prioritisation
    • Think systemically to enable product, data and engineering teams to deliver within short timeframes and evolve our offerings through agriculture- and commodity-specific research, pathways and initiatives
    • Be responsible for driving product alignment with the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals guidance and SBTi FLAG guidance
    • Document policies, methodologies and best practices for the GHG Protocol categories material to businesses, with a focus on Scope 3 supply chain emissions, and train analysts
    • Work with data scientists to maintain an abatement lever library and other knowledge and product assets
    • Work proactively and collaboratively across teams, in particular with product, data science, research and development, experience and commercial
    • Engage with clients as needed
    • Participate in industry associations and networks, such as Grow Asia, on behalf of the company
    • Stay up to date on relevant standards and global best practices

You should have:

    • University degree, ideally at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level, in a sustainability-related field such as Environmental, Geo- or Climate Sciences, Agronomy, Agri- or Silvicultural Engineering or related disciplines
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with knowledge of sustainability challenges and trends in the private sector, and multinational companies, especially with the integration of climate stewardship in supply chains and operations
    • Working knowledge of commodity supply chains, such as palm oil, timber, rice, soy, maize, wheat, cacao, coffee
    • Industry-relevant connections and networks with data providers, industry associations, collaborators and other relevant stakeholders
    • Carbon accounting and decarbonisation experience using global standards
    • Ability to work well under pressure, with fast turnarounds and bringing an entrepreneurial mindset
    • Passion for influencing change and working with multi-national enterprises to help them transform and decarbonise operations and supply chains in line with the Paris Agreement
