We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Architect /Senior Consultant Specialist

Principal responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to document, maintain and socialise the Data Model within the scope of the TIM Platform, currently scoped to: IT Asset inventory, IT Service / Application Instance, Evergreening management, IT service request. The role holder will provide a plan to:
    • Form a data strategy within TIM
    • Validate the data model
    • Socialise the data model
    • Register data assets in the trusted source framework and DBS Data Refinery
    • Migrate away from non-strategic technology platforms and data constructs
  • Work in conjunction with Group Data Architecture and the Chief Data Officer to ensure alignment between Data Models and Data Assets within the TIM Platform, by promoting and communicating data architecture best practice according to standards defined by Group Data Architecture defined strategy
  • Act as the technical expert within the domain under the guidance of the Platform Architect and work with Platform Owners, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Practice Leads, Product Owners and their pods to provide full life cycle architectural guidance to development teams and ensure quality technical deliverables
  • Determine business requirements and Platform strategy to influence solutions and the Platform towards the future state model
  • Interface and provide consultation and leadership in the relevant Design Authorities
  • Responsible for understanding and analysing user requirements to include data inputs/outputs from product or practice areas, ensuring the architecture of the TIM platform technology is fit for purpose and delivery of the most appropriate solution in line with the strategy
  • Challenges and strives to improve practices, processes, data, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies and standards

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Experienced on design, documentation, socialisation and implementation of enterprise scale data models
  • Experience of working within a large, complex and geographically dispersed organisation including matrix management structure and across time zones
  • Strong relationship management capabilities with an ability to engage, influence and collaborate with stakeholders across organisational boundaries enabling the delivery of high standard outcomes
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles & frameworks
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the power and value of data with an ability to apply technology solutions to meet business needs and deliver organisational strategy
  • Knowledge on Data Governance / Data Linage / Data Modelling / Data Privacy / Master & Metadata Management is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in line with HSBC standards including acting with integrity and ethically
  • Embracing Change and Innovation, a track record of delivering change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
  • Achieving excellence, set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
  • Self starter, able to lead self and others, proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
