Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for understanding of design intent, functions and compliance against which the product need to be qualified.
  • Responsible for DFM and DFA activities & optimization of design for cost reduction.
  • Create DFMEA and identify relevant product risks
  • Apply GD&T and perform Tolerance stack-up analysis for components/Sub-system
  • Perform hand calculations to support the design and sound knowledge of Strength of Material.
  • Experience in writing test procedures, test report and manufacturing documents etc.
  • Work with supplier, procurement engineer to complete the Prototype and qualifications
  • Knowledge in Test fixtures design & development.
  • Actively participate in a team environment, working with cross functional team for to develop electronics packaging for control units.
  • Apply techniques and skills required to identify a root cause of a given issue and very good debugging skills to address field issues.
  • Technical guidance to the junior engineers on design tasks.
  • Must be ready for travel to abroad on need basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Industry experience with experience in product Design and development with the good knowledge in strength of materials, manufacturing process and engineering process/tools (as defined in primary responsibility).
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 year experience in Product design and development.
  • Minimum 5 year experience in Working on new design concepts to achieve efficient design
  • Minimum 5 year experience in generation of Design concepts using tools like Pro/E, CATIA V5 and Unigraphics NX6/NX7.
  • Minimum 4 year experience in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in usage of DFMA principles, and adding value to the system by Value Engineering, by making use of standard parts and integrating the parts to reduce the part count.
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in materials and engineering concepts.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing processes involved and generation of manufacturing drawings.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in handling of manufacturing issues, assembly build issues, resolving field issues, failure
  • investigation, Root Cause analysis, designing of build fixtures etc.,
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in DO-160 verification process or similar.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Good understanding of any PLM/PDM software/package. Team center knowledge will be an added advantage
