MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Provide global production support and monitoring of Avantor SAP environments
  • Use tools such as Solution Manager and HANA Cockpit to manage technical aspects of Avantor’s SAP environments with a focus on system availability and performance
  • Provide support for major SAP projects, upgrades, system refreshes and maintenance
  • Assist SAP developers, application teams and other users in troubleshooting issues
  • Engage with service provider on relevant change requests and supports incidents
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent education/experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in SAP Basis administration in ECC 6.0, Solman 7.2 and several other NetWeaver 7.5+ applications with ABAP/Java stacks such as BW, PI, CRM, SCM, EWM, GRC, SAP Gateway, BODS, C4C, FSM, and Web Dispatcher is required
  • Experience in database administration, implementation and troubleshooting is required
  • Experience with Linux/Windows OS and HANA, ASE and/or MaxDB databases is required

Experience with Solution Manager 7.2 and HANA Cockpit is highly desired

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Expert in SAP BASIS and underlying operating systems and databases mentioned above
  • Able to debug and understand basic programming
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as Amazon AWS
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both independently and as a team member
  • Must be flexible with work hours including weekends in order to support system maintenance and other off hour activities
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with personnel at all levels
  • Good time management skills with ability to remain organized and focused in a highly volatile environment
