Job Description Summary

Suba Solutions is a machinery manufacturing company. The engineering manager should be in charge of the engineering, design, prototyping, and Bill of materials preparation for new and existing products.

Essential Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

  • The individual should have worked in a product development environment for 10 years, involving mechanical, electrical, and electronics/software. From the overall functionality of the product, he must be able to clearly identify the roles played by mechanical, electrical and electronics in the product.
  • Manage the engineering team, including development needs and resource planning.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of product development, from concept development, prototype development, sample submission to customer, a thorough knowledge of DFMEA, experience in developing DFMEA for new products, experience in developing DVP&R, ability to come up with test and validation methodologies, drawing standards, if drawing standards do not exist, ability to create drawing standards, ability to create drawings that conform to manufacturing methods, GD&T, application of GD&T in design, a thorough understanding of the purpose of stack calculations, ability to do stack calculations, design for manufacturing, ability to conduct drawing/design reviews with other disciplines, ability to make changes in design based on test results, validation results, customer inputs, manufacturing constraints, design reviews, and product functionality.
  • Extensive design and development experience with large rotating machines, particularly packaging machinery
  • Must be able to clearly demonstrate, by way of examples of his experience in developing products, the above abilities.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to complete numerous projects on time and within budget by drawing on his previous experience.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to reduce product costs through design changes, material changes, simplification, combining the functionality of multiple parts into one, and so on based on previous experience.
  • Provide engineering support during service order processing, like alignment and vibration, etc.
  • Provide support for internal and external customers in support of sales initiatives.
  • Coach your own team to help them develop their technical skills.

Desired Candidate Profile


Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering, if possible, preferably in Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 10 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and approve them for production.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

  • Must have managed a team of engineers and draftsmen.
  • It must be easygoing and have the ability to get along with others.
  • Must have the ability to compromise when necessary.
  • Must be able to juggle multiple tasks to achieve the ultimate goal of the organization, the ability to rally your team towards a common goal, the ability to stay focused on the tasks on hand, the ability to keep the focus on customers, on customer needs, on business and so on.
  • Must act as a mentor to the entire team.
  • must devise a plan to comprehensively improve the skills of the team members
