Job Profile - Engineering Technologist, Data Management

Work Location: Bangalore


Data Management Incubation team is a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is prized. Our team focuses on the delivery of products or computer-based systems for external customers for Data Management across various customers and stakeholders. It’s a fascinating field of work. Dell is looking for a senior technologist with advanced expertise and experience in Data Management space, development and operations technologies, platforms, tools, methodologies, and standards.

The Engineering Technologist Data Management and Incubation will be responsible for helping to create and validate the Data Management strategy thru a variety of POC’s and fast development starts. This role will also help develop technology strategies for Dell that address the demands of Data Management designers, developers, and operators, and to help our enterprise customers exploit this significant market evolution. The candidate for this role has significant work experience in the Data Management area, knowledge of Data Sciences, AI/ML, Big Data, Streaming tools and also the vendor landscape. Strong programming and Data Engineering skills are required across languages and tools. Additionally, the ideal candidate has experience with data bases, data management tools and the development of data analysis oriented applications.

The candidate should have a leadership mindset, solid operational experience, and the ability to problem-solve. She/he must also showcase exceptional communication skills, be knowledgeable about the latest industry trends, and highly innovative.


Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property.

You will lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. Your insights will influence product architecture and definitions. And you will work with colleagues across the business to ensure Dell products always lead the way.


You will:

  • Be a lead member of the Data Management and Incubation team which is responsible for the development of Data Management Strategy recommendations to senior leadership
  • Be directly in-charge of all POC’s and quick dev’s to validate and continuously update the offerings
  • Be an Internal expert on Data Management architectures, infrastructures, services and solutions and the ecosystem of technology providers
  • Directly support Dell’s Strategy, research, product divisions and marketing organizations
  • Support Dell’s go to market organizations in engaging with multiple stakeholders to learn current and future market demands, document ‘user stories’ and craft winning proposals


Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Deep understanding in the Data Management spaces – working with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Developers.
  • Deep Knowledge across Data Management Stacks – Catalog, Metadata management, Semantic layers, Data Virtualization, Data Ingestion, Streaming, Data Processing, Visualization and Marketplaces
  • Strong ability to identify emerging technology trends and respond with truly innovative technical and business approaches
  • Strong knowledge in architecting and implementing Data Management Solutions such as Data Management, Data Analytics, Micro Services, AI/ML training and inference, Operational Dashboards, etc.
  • Organized, goal-oriented technical leader to lead, and effectively collaborate with knowledgeable Architecture peers and business partners


Desirable Requirements

  • Master of Science in Computer Science
  • Management consulting experience
  • Working at companies in the Data Management space
