Executive Chef Job Description :
Our restaurant is searching for a creative and motivated executive chef to lead our talented kitchen team. In this position, you will act as the head of our kitchen, following and enforcing our managements requirements and guidelines. The Executive Chef will manage the kitchen, develop menus and create delectable recipes. The ideal candidate for this position is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about food. Those with previous industry experience and knowledge of Indian , Continental and Asian cuisine are encouraged to apply.
Your duties will include recruiting new employees, responding to customer issues, and developing new menu options. You should have excellent communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase food and supplies from vendors approved by the company and monitor inventory
- Develop menus, seasonal menu’s, item pricing
- Ensure that the kitchen and surrounding areas are sanitized and clean in accordance with company standards and health code regulations
- Hire, train and supervise kitchen personnel
- Stay current on restaurant industry trends
- Identify new culinary techniques and presentations
- Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.
- Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
- Create schedules for kitchen employees and evaluate their performance.
- Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulation.
- Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
- Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Recruit and manage kitchen staff
- Give prepared plates the “final touch”
- Perform administrative duties
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Keep time and payroll records
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary science or relevant field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
- Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
