Foundation Seed Field Representative


POSITION PURPOSE:

  • Assist in reliable and timely supply of Foundation Seed while achieving the yield and quality targets.
  • Ensure excellent collaboration with Breeders, seed production, farming, crop and climate team in achieving the reliability targets and improving foundation seed production reliability (quantity, quality and timeliness).
  • Responsible to maintain high level of hygienic controls (CSP/ GSPP), quality of parental lines and maintaining safety in the foundation seed operations at all levels.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the execution of the foundation seeds program for the assigned crops maintaining / improving reliability, quality, timeliness and cost. Train the seasonal workers on crop management, crop strategy and PL3 Standard.
  • Maintain inventories in storage and track inventories, shipments and information in appropriate database(s), including but not limited to Access, FTS, Velocity, FSOne and SAP.
  • Ensure number of requested seedling & variety are available and ready as planned by work closely with Seedling team. Also make sure that seedling is handed over to grower properly and transplanted without any problem.
  • Sampling and coordinate export of leaf samples for SNP test overseas. Coordinate the local NPPO visit to certify the crops during crop growth to have greenlight to export.
  • Oversee and execute operations including but not limited to seed preparation, seed sowing, rogueing, harvesting, threshing, conditioning, seed storage, shipments and assessment of PGO trials
  • Works with direct supervision to complete assigned daily tasks which may include field, lab or greenhouses responsibilities
  • Ensure that all the parental lines are genetically fixed - work closely with the breeders to evaluate and assess parental lines genetic quality.
  • Track the behavior of forecasts and set up corrective initiatives in case of significant deviations.
  • Participate actively in Global and Regional networks , use these forums to bring and share best practices for the overall benefit of the Company. Including contact actively with SPS when need help or support.
  • Collects all information and record such as phytosanitary, people traceability, water quality, phytosanitary risk analysis, QMS and document registration.
  • Participate in field visits and meeting with local Pre-Commercial team and R&D breeders for new market production trials.
  • Sharing relevant crop management data / information with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Ensure compliance of internal and external programs in our operations including HSE, Human Rights, FCPA, QMS, CSP, etc.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor / Master in Agriculture/ Horticulture or in Agronomy with 1-3 years experience in crop management in greenhouses
  • Effective communication skills required. Good knowledge of local language and English is needed
  • Customer Focus, Innovation & Experimentation, Collaboration and implementation of best practices, Knowledge Sharing
  • Process Oriented and Results Orientated
  • Fosters use of digital and analytic tools,
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
