The Network Management Services (NMS) team, part of the Global Network Services organization, is responsible for engineering and supporting technical solutions that enable the end to end delivery & management of the bank’s network infrastructure. We manage a global portfolio of in-house and vendor software that support the various stages of IT service delivery: from product certification, asset documentation and deployment – to access management, monitoring and reporting. Our primary user community is the Network Engineering, Network Deployment, and Network Operations teams, with additional stakeholders across the bank’s IT landscape (e.g., NaaS, Chief Security Office, End-User Services). Through cross-silo and global collaboration, we strive for continuous improvement of our network management solutions as they are vital to a stable, secure, and scalable network as well as integral to the bank’s wider IT strategy.

As a DevOps Engineer for NMS, you will help to deliver innovative, client-centric and impactful technical solutions that ensure the bank’s global network infrastructure is managed securely and efficiently.

Your key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities: (5 bullet points max)

  • Key contributor to the development of our network management software solutions, implementing technical designs and improving upon the existing code base.
  • Plan and execute software releases and NMS infrastructure changes, communicating the purpose/impact/risk to Change Approval Board, and maintain compliance and security controls throughout the deployment.
  • Liaise with all departments within the Global Network Services business line, including Deployment, Engineering, and Operations; conduct interviews to surface new requirements and coordinate regular testing to ensure outcomes meet expectations.
  • Monitor and provide support for network management issues and day-to-day questions, lead cross-regional troubleshooting teams and escalating to management when necessary.
  • Participate in the analysis and adoption of new technologies and methodologies, comparing market offerings to internal capabilities, and helping to determine automation strategies in order to improve our development process.

Your skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex global software initiatives, preferably in banking or other highly regulated industries where risk awareness and user impact is integral to the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with network programmability and integration: Bash (Essential); Java, Python, SQL (Desirable); API – REST, JSON, XML (Desirable); Ansible, Terraform, Git, or other DevOps tools (Desirable); Cisco ACI (Advantageous); PERL, JavaScript (Advantageous)
  • Highly proficient with Linux OS / CLI, familiarity with Windows Server OS and working knowledge of Cloud technologies (Google, Azure).
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies and protocols (e.g., routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, SNMP, SSH, Syslog, Radius, TACACS+) and common network vendors (Cisco, Extreme, McAfee, Arista). CCNA or CCNP accreditation desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills; an ability to succinctly summarize complex technical issues for upper management and a desire to share learned knowledge with others.
