Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure EHS & Security management system implementation in organization.

  • To ensure compliance of local regulation.

  • To ensure compliance of Local & corporate EHS & Security guidelines and liaise with authorities.

  • To ensure Operation/ maintenance of WWTP & Fire safety systems

  • To handle EHS related projects

  • To ensure OHC operation smoothly

  • The role holder needs to know the philosophy on EHS. He should have in depth knowledge EHS & Security guidelines (Local & Corporate) and be able to implement the processes to maintain Safety & Security to ensure compliance of EHS & Security standard. Good command on EHS & Security related statutory requirements & its compliance, Good at training program design and delivery of programs.

  • The role holder also need to have sound knowledge on WWTP and Fire safety system (hydrant, fire alarm system etc.) operation/maintenance.

  • Define all key accountabilities (5-10), which the role will be expected to perform in short to medium future. Make sure that you list the accountability on top, which the role will be doing most frequently and which has most impact on the the team/BU/Lonza. Begin each sentence with an action word, e.g. Provides appropriate coaching and performance feedback to all direct reports.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Global EHS Philosophy is translated into the India Operations. Implement & maintain EHSS mgmt. system. Accident reporting & investigation.

  • Responsible for supporting site/line management and employees in defining, understanding and meeting their EHS&S responsibilities.

  • Responsible for compliance of all legal requirements, update of amendments & create awareness at Local level. Liaise with Local Authorities and ensure that there is partnering with them to ensure that all required processes are followed

  • Liaise with Local Authorities and ensure timely approval of all required permission/ NOC/ Building Drawing approval

  • Prepare training programmes and deliver the same to employees, third party employees, transporters etc.

  • Ensure proper relationships with neighboring residential localities and Industries.

  • Ensure that all safety equipment within the company is as working condition, and serviced at regular intervals

  • Conduct EHS Audit and submit recommendations to Management for action

  • Submit Monthly EHS report to the Management

  • Conduct HAZOP study in case of new projects.

  • Conduct Mock drills & training to colleagues and fire safety teams on fire safety

  • Ensure proper OHC management.

  • EHSS project handling.

  • Ensure proper WWTP operation & Env. Lab operation to meet regulatory compliance & explore the new technology to improve the performance & cost saving.

  • Ensure smooth & effective fire hydrant, FAD & PA system operation

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma / Advance Diploma in Industrial Health Safety / Degree in Engineering / Master Degree (Preferred) with minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

  • Should be Team Player, Able to handle Team.

  • Certification : Safety Diploma/ Safety certificate course in EHS (Optional)

  • Excellent Communication skills.

  • Skills : Ability to train the users to see that EHS is followed at user level and the ownership to EHS lies with the Users. Good knowledge of handling projects, ETP operations, Fire safety, security mgmt.

  • Supervision : EHS & Security performance monitoring, in terms of EHS & security incidents (CAPA), No complaint/ penalty etc. from regulatory body for any wrong discharges etc.
