The team you’ll be part of

We are looking for a Senior Legal Market Head in India to serve Nokia’s India business and operations as a strategic business partner providing support for a broad spectrum of legal matters. The legal India Market Head will lead a legal team of 5 lawyers and will report into the General Counsel for Network Infrastructure and Nokia Business & Operations in Asia Pacific and Japan, India and Middle East & Africa. In this strategic and operational legal leadership role, you will be part of the Market Leadership and engage with the Business Group Leadership ensuring that all business decisions meet commercial, legal and regulatory requirements.



What you will learn and contribute to

Your role will be a business partner and be involved in key management decisions. Besides the management role, you will need to oversee all legal and compliance matters in Nokia’s business and operations in India and provide training and guidance to your team to ensure business receives the best legal support across Nokia’s different line of business and operations in India. You and your team will help the business to understand the regulatory framework and risks around telecommunication and supply chain requirements applying to network vendors to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and codes. Monitoring major legislative developments and regulatory changes that is relevant to Nokia in India and updating legal and commercial teams accordingly is another key focus area. The role will focus primarily on India, with additional opportunity to provide support on regional matters in Asia Pacific and Japan over time.

Your skills and experience

You must be a qualified lawyer in India with minimum 15 years of experience, as well as have prior management experience in leading a regional legal team in India. You must have gained your legal training and first working experience in a top tier reputable corporate/commercial law firm rounded off with an In-house counsel experience in a global multi-national company. Prior experience in the IT/ technology/ telecommunications industry is a plus. You will able to provide excellent working references and credentials.
