PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide a healthcare program, to strengthen infection prevention control and antibiotic stewardship of hospitals for the benefit of the underprivileged.
DURATION: Minimum Two Years

POSITION SUMMARY
- ICN Shall be responsible for implementation, and monitoring of IPC and AMS Project at respectively assigned hospital.
- ICN will be responsible to build capacity and bring positive behavior change in healthcare workers in the assigned hospital thru on-site training, monitoring, and feedback
- Work with project teams on developing a facility-specific action plan for implementation of IPC and AMS interventions, assist in drafting reports and generating reports and presentations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support functioning of IC team in hospital assigned to him/her.
- To implement the infection control protocols and monitor implementation of IPC practices and SOPs, including hand hygiene, preventive bundles, sterilization and disinfection and antimicrobial stewardship.
- To carry daily IC Rounds of Critical and Noncritical areas.
- To carry out HIC Surveillance activities, HIC audits, and corrective actions.
- Quality indicator analysis and monitoring.
- Do gap analysis with help of tools, do RCA and CAPA for all the gaps found in surveillance activities
- Monitor implementation of IPC practices and SOPs, including hand hygiene, preventive bundles, sterilization and disinfection, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Visit the microbiology laboratory or go through the reports and track all infected cases and maintain surveillance data.
- Impart education and training to HCWs under the supervision of the infection control officer.
- Ensure compliance with the hospital’s biomedical waste (BMW) management policy.
- Maintain data of sharps/ needle-stick injuries and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
- Initiate and facilitate immunization for hepatitis B virus vaccination for the staff, especially in high-risk areas.
- Facilitate the provision of first aid and appropriate consultation in case of suspected exposure of any hospital worker.
- Training of Linked nurses, Master training of with hospital team for IPC and AMR
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A nursing graduate or professional with desired training and experience in hospital-based infection control, PG will be an added advantage
- Proven experience as Nurse, ICN with Hospitals/ NGOs or other organizations implementing health Projects
- Experience with implementation of QI, tools, and protocols of antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control.
- Experience in using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good communication skills.
- A commitment to excellence and demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with a balanced focus on personal accountability and team goals
- Demonstrates initiative and follow-through and is self-motivated in the completion of deliverables in a dead-line driven environment
