As a driven and expert Statistics Manager in Cytel’s Software R&D department, you will contribute to the development of highly motivated and skilled junior statisticians in our team.
You will get a chance to participate in and contribute to the development of Cytel’s pioneering Solara® platform that combines Cytel’s key strength in developing advanced statistical software with cutting-edge data analytics methods and the computing power offered by modern cloud platforms.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:- Study various cutting-edge statistical methods and algorithms and coach junior statisticians on the same.
- Guide junior statisticians in designing and testing statistical algorithms in Cytel’s engines.
- Perform resource management and monitoring for the Software statisticians’ group.
- Mentor statisticians in the Software team to help them with career-building. Manage their training needs.
- Guide statisticians in acquiring and improving clinical trials domain knowledge by attending appropriate conferences, webinars, and training. Guide them on making technical presentations.
- Attend conferences and industry events to keep your knowledge up to date.
- Monitor performance of individual statisticians, conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, and conduct annual appraisals.
- Ph.D./Master’s in Statistics from a reputed university in India or abroad
- Candidates require at least 8-12 years of experience working as a Biostatistician/Statistician/Lead Statistician in the Life Sciences industry and demonstrated expertise in areas like clinical trial designing or complex data analysis
- At least 2 years experience of managing 2 or more statisticians
- Strong mathematical and logical aptitude, analytical mindset
- Strong knowledge of probability theory, statistical distributions, hypothesis testing and inference, sample size calculation, design of experiments, large/small sample methods
- Strong knowledge of Applied Mathematics, including numerical methods, calculus, linear algebra, mathematical modeling, and optimization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of adaptive clinical trials, Bayesian methods applied to clinical trials, and methods of multiplicity adjustment
- Experience in testing statistical/mathematical algorithms
- Good knowledge of R or Python

- Working with cutting edge statistical methods used in clinical trials
