Global Business Services

Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

Global Business Services is recognized for flawless execution, sound risk management, operational resiliency, operational excellence and innovation.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview*

The GLOBAL FINANCE was set up in 2007 as a part of the CFO Global Delivery strategy to provide offshore delivery to Line of Business and Enterprise Finance functions. The capabilities hosted include General Accounting & Reconciliations, Management Reporting & Analysis, Research & Analytics, Financial Transaction Processing, Finance Systems Support, Entity Controllership & Regulatory reporting.

Over the years, the scope of GLOBAL FINANCE has been expanded to include operations for other enterprise control functions like Risk and Compliance & SOX Controls.

Bank of America has recently implemented Oracle cloud as it is General Ledger for APAC, EMEA and few countries in Americas. Bank of America uses two GLs i.e. SAP GL as book of records and Oracle as Source-system for SAP GL.

In Finance Application Production Services (FAPS) , we are using some other finance applications like Bank Analyzer, SAP BPC, Finance provisioning point (FPP) for fulfilling the data needs of downstream applications, CFARRI (Regulatory reporting database), AXIOM for Regulatory report submissions and GIRF for Tax reporting.

FAPS ensures all financial accounting and financial reporting systems and applications are operating smoothly from a functional perspective.

Job Description*

Application Support team provides support to US Reg. Reporting line of business (LOB) teams ensuring availability of data as per agreed timelines and also assist in resolving issues that prevent users to prepare/file any report to regulators/ management. Individual will be required to collaborate with multiple upstream teams and technology partners for quick and smooth remediation.

Individual will be a contributing member of the Applications Support team with engagement in Change activities like UAT, attending Scrum calls, Preprod testing & Coordinating runbook changes before going to Production

Associate should be able to provide expertise in overall support function including ability to research complex issues. This requires strong application knowledge and ability to understand complex SQL queries to analyze.

Responsibilities*

• Attend Project calls during India hours (includes weekly Scrum, Grooming, and Demo calls)
• JIRA testing
  • Includes Operations created JIRAs and other JIRAs Impacting Operations
  • Include UAT and PreProd Testing
• PreProd Activities
  • Executing end to end testing for scheduled monthly and Adhoc releases;
    • Includes executing jobs in multiple cycles based on project needs and CRR Request
    • Managing reference data as it changes based on what cycle is being tested
  • Executing regressions testing
• Coordinating runbook changes before going to Production
  • Includes meetings with Tech and Data Mgmt to ensure full understanding of new steps
  • Testing new runbook changes and provide feedback / recommendations
  • Establish effective controls on new processes
• Assisting with initiative funded projects for Operations

B.Com/M Com /MBA graduate or CA Intermediate/ICWAI / B.Tech/BCA/MCA

Certifications, If Any

Experience Range*

9-12 Years

Foundational skills*

• Good Understanding of VBA, SQL and ET Tools (Alteryx and Tableau)
• Proficiency in MS office tools
• Experience in different financial tools/ systems - should be well versed with data flow
• Good Financial Acumen (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.) on Accounting with proficient technical/operational knowledge
• Ability to perform data analysis and data validation
• Understanding of banking industry, knowledge of financial products such as loans, deposits, derivatives etc.
• Good Understanding of US regulatory reports
• Good understanding of Agile framework. Be able to create User Stories
• Strong communication/presentation skills (both verbal & written) - To work effectively with varying levels of people (Global Finance & business partners, Technology, etc.)
• Strong sense of urgency to accomplish tasks and serve customers in a detail and deadline oriented environment
• Excellent time management skills, Organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated, able to work independently & a self-tarter with excellent interpersonal skills

Desired Skills

• Ability to manipulate, organize, summarize large amounts of data from/to multiple databases
• Ability to assimilate large amounts of information quickly. Ability to understand complex methodologies and issues. Should be able to compare, identify differences, seek to understand differences, and judgment to raise red flag
