We are currently seeking an experienced, decisive, and innovative national Sales Manager to establish our India business of Medical devices.

In this role, you will oversee marketing and development of medical device categories, help make important guiding decisions regarding existing products and product development, and work collaboratively with other teams to attain our shared corporate goals and maximize profitability. You should be a strong leader with excellent management skills who is able to motivate and innovate on a daily basis.

Job Description

  • Strategic Planning
  • Establish corporate goals, short term and long term budgets and developing business plans for achieving these goals
  • Actively involve in business planning and analysis for assessment of revenue potential in business opportunities
  • Create new set ups in business operations for the profitability of business.
  • Provide sales management, budget control, compensation programs and incentive planning
  • Proactively identify changes in healthcare, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.

Sales & Marketing

  • Create and implement effective direct sales strategies and lead nationwide direct sales personnel (sales and clinical education staff) toward achievement of corporate sales objectives
  • Manage the sales and marketing operations for promoting Medical devices and accountable for achieving business goals and increased sales growth
  • Identifying, developing and nurturing new market segments for launch of products, thereby enhancing profitability
  • Keeping a check on the competition & market information to fine tune the marketing strategies
  • Guide and mentor Junior managers in handling the business network

Key Accounts Management

  • Building and strengthening relationships with key accounts, medical fraternity, opinion leaders, thereby ensuring high customer satisfaction by providing them with complete product support.
  • Close co-ordination with the other departments, ensuring smooth and profitable operations.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements with the assistance of Hospital Account Managers.

Channel Management

  • Identifying and networking with financially strong and reliable stockists/ depots, resulting in deeper market penetration and reach.
  • Ensuring cost effective logistic operations & seamless materials movement to ascertain sufficient inventory levels at each sales outlet/ distribution channel
  • Evaluating performance & monitoring distributor sales and marketing activities
  • Ensuring the ready availability of stock of medicines & stationery for the smooth operations

Sales Promotion

  • Organizing and conducting medical educational programs, seminars and conferences for the doctors/chemists.
  • Designing & implementing marketing activities such as camps, doctors& patients meets for enhancing brand visibility/ coverage & reach.

Team Management

  • Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales and clinical education staff
  • Incorporating bonded teamwork and managing healthy environment
  • Imparting support to the sales representatives/ sales men and driving them to achieve pre planned business targets
  • Conducting training programs and events to shape the teams abilities
  • Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews

Desired Candidate Profile

· Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or sciences and 15+ years of medical device/capital equipment sales experience with at least 5-7 years of experience managing a direct sales force

Skills:

  • Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.
  • Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management including CFO, CIO, CEO, CMO.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: A solid understanding of the patient monitoring market; including trends, technologies, products, and players.
