Payroll Analyst APAC

Role Summary:

Processes payroll and performs employee file maintenance functions for assigned countries across APAC to ensure the accurate and timely payment of wages. The responsibilities include payroll inputs, verification, benefit deductions, reconciliations and year end processing. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with outsourced payroll vendors including escalations, compliance issues, audits and reporting. This role is also responsible for initiating payments to employees, vendors, tax authorities and social services authorities. Our ideal candidate will develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships by addressing questions and escalations with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and professionalism.


Role Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Employee master file maintenance: processing new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposit, time sheet data, retroactive adjustments and special payments as applicable

  • Compliant, accurate and timely execution of regularly scheduled and supplemental payrolls

  • Administration and payment of various tax allowances and social services

  • Administration of employee taxes, social security and other applicable records

  • Payroll accounting

  • Generation and distribution of employee payments (direct deposits)

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

  • Creation and maintenance of payroll process documents

  • Support all payroll related internal and external audits

  • Initiate and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure proper communication and execution of payroll initiatives, recommend changes and mitigate risk to the organization.

  • Initiates and develops strong, relationships with vendor-partners to ensure effective and efficient data collection and transmission, adherence to SLA’s, recommend and oversee proactive changes to processes, and resolve complex problems.

  • Performs analysis of complex pay transactions to identify issues that exist; works with various internal operational teams to identify root cause of payroll system issues, assess risk and implement mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate future occurrence.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience managing payroll in a multi-jurisdictional/global payroll environment, with strong focus on India payroll processing.

  • Good working knowledge and experience of payroll requirements, legislation and statutory obligations including source tax filings, social security filings, and specific tax rulings in India, and preferably other APAC countries.

  • Knowledge of employment regulations in India and global experience desired.

  • Knowledge of accounting, with a focus on compensation accounting.

  • Knowledge of employee stock options.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and vendors.

  • Ability to successfully handle numerous priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of ADP Streamline, Hrberry and Workday applications desired

  • Ability to form strong customer relationships, an understanding of customer focus and service delivery.

  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail

  • Drive & self-motivation with the ability to work independently.

  • Fast learner and good team player

  • Fluent in English

Preferences:

  • Experience with Workday HR/Time Reporting/Absence Management

  • Experience with ADP Streamline/Hrberry/workday

  • Intermediate knowledge on MS productivity tools (MS Office); Word, PPT, Visio, and Excel

  • Some travel may be required
