Job description

We are looking for a Principal Cloud Engineer to work with our Product engineering team who will have hands-on experience in DevOps Tools and languages using Azure and Google Cloud Platform and is able to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions. The person will be responsible for Designs, develops and implements scalable cloud-based solutions, deployment and debugging existing cloud solutions and recommends improvements.

He or she should be able to determines technical standards, specifications and leads the design, build and support of Cloud services for our existing Hosting Platform. Should have the ability to collaborates with Product, Application, Infrastructure and Security teams to review product designs and optimize them for cloud performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• As one of the Key members of Cloud Engineering team you will be involved in building Cloud based product, features and solutions for existing Cloud Platform on Azure and GCP.

• You will help to setup standards and framework related to Cloud, DevOps Engineering for Cloud based qualified Products and Services.

• Adopt and implement IAC and Non – IAC based automations for Cloud based product upgrades, deployment using existing Release Management framework.

• Developing and maintain terraform modules, integrate with APIs for Cloud Product and services hosted on Azure and GCP Cloud

• Ensure the infrastructure is up to date from security perspective, identify vulnerabilities in regular basis and remediate them to meet Cloud Security standard and policies.

• Ensure that the platform is fully compliant as per GSK Cloud Engineering security and cloud governance framework.

• As part of Cloud Platform development team help other application and product teams in design and delivery of Cloud solutions by defining, developing cutting platform capabilities using cloud native solutions and infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps, K8S, IAC, IDAM, Cloud Security Policies.

• Work on architectural and design proposal, validating and lead new initiative, communications with stakeholders.

• As a SME from GSK Cloud Engineering team lead Technical Projects and Program and work closely with Third party and Partner teams to deliver Cloud Solutions as per plan and milestones

Required Skills

• Degree in Computer science or a similar field.

• At least 8-12 years of experience as DevOps, Cloud Engineering / Architecture, Python

• Experience with CI/CD, Cloud Native Development, DevOps etc.

• Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.

• Troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Excellent Stakeholder Management skills

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Proficient in Azure DevOps Pipeline and DevSecOps processes.

• Proficient in developing codes, scripts and architect, design, develop cloud native solutions in Azure and GCP Cloud

• Familiar and have used Software Development best practices extensively.

• Proficient in building solutions using container services - AKS & GKE

• Hands-on experience deploying container solutions, including Docker containers, and managing K8s deployments using YAML and Helm charts.

• Experience deploying services in Azure & Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with service discovery tools like Istio & Mesh (optional).

• Proficient in writing scripts using Terraform, Python, Ansible, Json and PowerShell

• Expert in using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps and other configuration Tools.

• Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and Data-driven Testing framework.

• Familiarity and hands on with Legacy Infrastructure Platform and Products (Compute, CaaS, Database, Storage Backup, Web App )

Other Skills

• Understanding of ITIL service management principles.

• Knowledge of cloud cost methodology.

• Experience in product governance.

• Familiarity with multi-cloud deployments using cloud tools like Camunda, Azure Action, Azure Arc, Google Anthos etc.

• Strong professional communication skills.

• Understanding of AKS & GKE security practices.
