The Network Automation Business Unit under Nokia’s NI (Network Infrastructure) group creates software which provides Best-in-Class management of IP and Optical networks for a world-wide customer base. Our flagship Network Services Platform (NSP) product is the industry leading product that provides state-of-the-art management for all of Nokia’s IP and Optics switches portfolio as well as an evolving multi-vendor/multi-domain network.

The Network Functions Manager-Packet (NFM-P / erstwhile 5620 SAM) which is at the core of NSP provides management of Nokia’s IP portfolio of switches with more than a billion dollar revenue base and multiple product lines including but not limited to the 7750 Service Router (SR), 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS), 7950 XRS, 7210 Service Access Switch (SAS), 7705 Service Aggregation Router (SAR), Data Center Networksand Media Gateway. A key differentiator in the IP portfolio, the NFM-P provides the full set of FCAPS functionality to over 800 customers around the world.

Members of our team routinely work with a wide variety of telecommunication technologies such as IP, MPLS, Ethernet, L2/L3 MPLS-based VPN services, Routing, Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), OAM Diagnostics, Web Application Front-ends. Technologies embedded and related to the product include Java, EJB, JMS, Oracle, Vertica, XML (including an automated test framework), JavaScript, REST, Linux, Windows, Virtualized Environments.

The NFM-P product is experiencing a period of exceptional growth and is looking to adding new design members to Bangalore team. Our customer base is rapidly expanding, revenues are growing and the number of different network devices managed by NFM-P is increasing.

Key Responsibilities:

Members of the NFM-P Design team are responsible for the development of features and solutions for the IP domain network management. They interact with Product Line Management (PLM) member to get the high level specifications/requirements. They work closely with the QA team members following agile methodology to deliver high quality software. They also interact with the support teams and the network element team members as needed.

Required Skills and Interests:

These positions require highly motivated and creative individuals. Working in IP Network Management as a member of the NSP Development team involves the following skills :-

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in computer science/engineering.

  • 5 -12 years experience in software development and design

  • Excellent Communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Proven experience with Spring Java; overall expertise in J2EE frameworks and design patterns.Strong design and development skills with database technologies.

  • Strong skills in HTML technologies including AngularJS, ReactJS, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML and comfortable with responsive design using Bootstrap.
