Responsible for the definition and direction of a product or product family throughout all stages of the product life cycle (concept through end-of-life.). Works with product marketing and sales on the product launch and go to market strategy to ensure that the product is successful in the marketplace upon release. Continues to work with development, sales and product marketing to manage the product through its life cycle to ensure it meets established goals for revenue and customer satisfaction. At this level the employee performs all essential activities as outlined above for a product.


Technical Product Owner for the cloud-based robotic simulation team

Siemens PLM supports its customers in their journey of introducing smart automation and robotics technologies by reinventing our best-in-class robotics and automation simulation solutions using cloud technologies. Our internal Simulation startup is looking for a Technical Product Owner

Position Overview:
As a Product Owner, you will be part of a multi-discipline team shaping our new cloud-based robotic simulation solution. What you will do:

  • Work within a team of software developers and its Scrum Master
  • Specify, define and prioritize requirements representing customer needs
  • Map and identify potential customers, their cloud robotic simulation solution use cases, needs, and pains
  • Define user workflows, required tests, execute them and validate system behavior and quality
  • Work closely with customers and the Simulation startup Product Management
  • Support pilots and deployments at customer sites, consult, collect feedback and guide the development team accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical/ Electrical or Computer Science graduate
  • Knowledge and experience with SaaS product requirements definition
  • Knowledge and experience with acceptance tests definition and execution
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills with an ability to state things simply and persuasively for a variety of audiences - internal, external, business, and technical
  • Excellent presentation skills and ease in speaking in front of large groups
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile/ Lean Startup methodologies (experience working in a rapid prototyping environment a plus)
  • Travel few times per year

Experience in one or several of the following domains is an advantage:

  • Development/deployment/acceptance validation of SaaS products
  • Robotics and/or Automation domains
  • Robotic simulation and Off-Line Programming software tools
  • Experience working with large scale distributed systems
  • Customer-facing engagements, value proposition presentations, and demonstrations
  • Scripting or programming
