The ICCT is looking for a self-directed, energetic resource to implement the research strategy of transitioning to electric vehicles in India. Representative work can be seen at https://theicct.org/india.


To be successful in our environment, you must be intellectually curious, self-directed, and be able to work with people from across the globe. You must be able to connect research to policy and translate technical information to stakeholders. This is a full-time position that will be based in Panchkula, Haryana and will report to the Senior Manager in Delhi. There will be two openings for this position. Some domestic (within India) and international travel may be required.


You Will:


  • Support the implementation of the ICCT Electric Vehicles strategy in India
  • Support the work around electrification of road transport at sub national level in India
  • Support the work on developing polices around accelerating shift to electric vehicles at sub national level in India
  • Working closely with State Government Departments to facilitate the rapid adoption of electric vehicles in the state.
  • Support and contribute to the organization of meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.
  • Support in managing projects with diverse partners and take responsibility for successful project delivery of the project
  • Support and co-author ground-breaking research in India
  • Support in maintaining productive working relationships with academic experts, civil society, industry and government officials in India
  • Support in communicating the work of the ICCT in a clear and effective manner
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

You Have:


  • Master’s or PhD in planning, engineering, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of full time professional experience in the private sector, academia, civil society or other research setting with a focus on transportation, energy, environment and/or policy
  • Excellent and demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and research skills, such as experience collecting and analysing large datasets, drafting technical papers, and distilling research evidence into key actions
  • Examples of successful project management or a project management certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and with data analysis software
  • Candidates with good experience working with public agencies in India are preferred
