Job Description:
As a Sea Import Documentation Executive, you will play a critical role in facilitating the importation process by ensuring accurate and timely completion of documentation required for sea freight shipments. You will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, carriers, and customs authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations and smooth clearance of shipments. Your attention to detail and ability to navigate complex documentation procedures will be essential in ensuring the efficient flow of goods through the importation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation, processing, and submission of import documentation for sea freight shipments in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, overseas agents, and carriers to obtain necessary documentation and information for import clearance.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Communicate with customs authorities to obtain import permits, clearances, and resolve any documentation discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and sales, to coordinate shipment schedules and resolve documentation-related issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of import shipments and reconcile any discrepancies in documentation or billing.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to streamline documentation workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff members on documentation procedures and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in import documentation for sea freight shipments, preferably in a logistics or freight forwarding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and customs clearance platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify and resolve issues related to import documentation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification or training in customs regulations and documentation procedures is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
