Job Description

Responsibilities:


Design and execute test plans: Collaborate with the development team to create comprehensive test plans and strategies for backend APIs.


Functional testing: Perform functional testing of APIs to ensure that they meet the specified requirements and functionality.


Non-functional testing: Conduct non-functional testing, including performance, scalability, and security testing, to identify and address any potential issues.


Test automation: Develop and maintain automated tests to streamline the validation process and improve efficiency.


Bug identification and reporting: Identify and report bugs, issues, and potential areas for improvement in a clear and concise manner, following established procedures.


Collaboration and communication: Work closely with the development team, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify issues, and provide timely updates on validation progress.


Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to test plans, test cases, and validation processes.


Continuous improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in API validation, and proactively suggest process improvements.


Qualifications:


Experience: Proven experience in backend API validation, testing, or quality assurance roles, preferably in a software development environment.


Technical skills: Strong understanding of API testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby. Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, SOAPUI, or JUnit.


Testing expertise: Solid knowledge of various testing techniques, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.


Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to testing.


Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, quickly learn new technologies and tools, and adapt to changing priorities.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
