Project Overview

Our Partner has started on an ambitious rollout of Fibre to the Home across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Bechtel is their Delivery Partner and we are supporting the scaling-up of their capability and the management of multiple work sites, contractors and stakeholders.

The Engineering/Build Interface & Planning Coordination team is, effectively, a Functional Organization responsible for the people and processes which, among other activities and focus areas, ensures that engineering and build of the network is compliant with design/installation guidelines and specifications.

• 
  The principal responsibility of this team will be to ensure that the City Teams are conversant and competent in the engineering/build process(es), procedures and requirements.
• The Regional Completions Engineer will be part of the CBO Completions Team and will work according to the direction of the Engineering/Build Interface & Planning Coordination Manager.
• Bechtel’s engagement in this project will allow our Partner to build competency and capacity in a sustainable manner, which enables them to meet the demands of their ambitious Nationwide rollout programme.

Role Overview

Reporting to the CBO Engineering/Build Interface & Planning Coordination Manager, primary responsibility of this position is to monitor, review and assess the as-built package quality and completion deliverables within assigned Region in accordance with specifications and processes for completion of City works.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  Monitors the on-time delivery and Right First Time % of As Built packages from the City Teams and reports upwards
• Oversees as-built QC review processe
• Manages quality control of QC review
• Manages timely completion of as built review in the region and anticipates required resource
• Complete check of release sheets and LOC information and validate ( Salesforce)
• Provide feedback to the City Teams and lead lessons learnt and/or training.
• Complete Integrity checks
• Accurate reporting and tracking of program, plans and completions (SharePoint )
• Provide daily reports and updates to the Project Manager
• Assessing, planning and describing/ defining recurring challenges, dejects or rejections

Basic Qualifications

• Significant understanding of the standard engineering and construction work planning and demonstrated ability to conduct independent work requiring judgment in the application of engineering techniques with the use of conventional approaches to technical problems encountered.
• Understanding of underground works and utilities (telecom and fibre preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in developing schedules and budgets for engineering related activities as well as other Project Controls-type tools and techniques for developing and tracking forecasts.
• Demonstrated experience of managing contracted construction / engineering works.
• Possess a valid full UK driving license.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance.
• Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Preferred with experience in managing a team.

A recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university.
