Job summary:
The Red Hat Facilities team is looking for a Regional Safety and Security Manager to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will play a key role in delivering, managing, and safeguarding the security of our assets and personnel at the Pan-India locations in Asia Pacific (APAC). You will coordinate and deploy security activities in the region, act as the local security key leader, take inventory of assets, threats, and controls, and determine risks and develop mitigation strategies. You’ll report to the Regional Safety and Security Manager, APAC and work in partnership with various Red Hat business partners from HR, Facilities, InfoSec, Legal, Compliance, among others. As a Regional Safety and Security Manager, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on developing programs that scale and are impactful. Primary job responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage the pan-India security and transportation services for all Red Hat India sites that are aligned with Red Hat’s requirements, expectations, and culture
  • Develop, implement, and manage the delivery of Security & Safety (S+S) global security and safety programs and projects in India that align with overall objectives
  • Develop and manage the security and transportation team, including 24/7 ops support personnel, security officers, supervisors, guards, escorts, drivers, and vehicles deployed at Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi sites
  • Plan and organize security and transportation activities that comply with the respective legal and regulatory requirements for Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi
  • Implement policies, procedures, standards, code of conduct, training, and methods for site security, security escorts, drivers, and transportation
  • Implement policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, people, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss
  • Manage business critical projects and programs with significant financial or legal impact at the country or site level
  • Develop, document, and improve standards for measuring efficiency and effectiveness of the security and transportation services
  • Brief S+S leadership on a regular basis the the status of security, safety, business resilience, or transportation issues and escalate to SSBR leadership immediately whenever there is a critical event
  • Brief country or site management on status of security, safety, business resilience, or transportation issues in consultation with S+S leadership
  • Administer deployment plans, duty rosters, supervision, attendance records, absentee coverage, overtime tracking, supply of work equipment, tools, and office stationery
  • Ensure full support from security vendors in the use of technology like GPS tracking and communications tools for the security and transportation activities, vetting, and background screening of personnel prior to deployment at any Red Hat site, correct and timely invoicing as well as payment of salaries, and investigation of complaints against security or transportation personnel
Required skills:
  • Master’s degree in an area of study relevant to this position and 3+ years of experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service, or private sector security organization, or Bachelor’s degree in an area of study relevant to this position and 6+ years of experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization, or a diploma in an area of study relevant to this position and 8+ years experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate environment, preferably in software engineering, security, or transportation industry, managing security and transportation services, and dealing with multiple deployed personnel across India
  • Qualified to work in India with a good record and background check cleared
  • Ability to consistently work on complex assignments requiring quick action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues; ability to make recommendations on new processes and procedures
  • Capable of acting on your own to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Ability to lead or supervise associate activities and provide guidance to other non-exempt associates
  • Demonstrate clear, concise and effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to lead others and team projects (e.g., prioritize work, provide effective training, and coordinate multiple tasks).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires a proactive and self-sufficient approach and effective time management
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally when required
  • Member in industry professional associations
  • Language skills in one or more regional language or dialect
  • Board certified as a Physical Security Professional or Certified Protection Professional (Security Management) through ASIS International is a plus
