Department Overview

The Finance Technology function provides systems development, implementation and support services for FIL’s Finance Team. We support several functions spanning across Business Finance & Management Accounting, Financial Accounting & Analytics, Taxation, Global Procurement, Corporate Treasury, and several other teams in all of FIL’s international locations, including UK, Japan, China and India.

We provide IT services to the Fidelity International businesses, globally. These include development and support of business functions that underpin our financial accounting and decision making for global CFO Orgs, and we implement multiple systems including ERP platforms, home grown apps and third party products. We are system providers to key process lifecycles such as Procure to Pay (P2P/Global Procurement), Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C) and Acquire to Retire (A2R). We also manage systems to enable cash management, forex trading and treasury operations across the Globe. We own warehouses that consolidate data from across the organisations functions to provide meaningful insights.

We are currently running a major multi-year global transformation programme that includes construction of critical new in-house applications, catering to several functional work streams.

Essential Skills

• 5-7 years of overall full stack (Java, Oracle/PLSQL) hands on experience of system software development, testing and maintenance
• 4+ years of development experience with skills Java, REST APIs, Springboot
• Experience with NodeJs or Python
• Should be able to provide technical design of components for business solutions
• Experience with cloud architecture and design principles, micro-services
• Good understanding of infra aspects of technical solutions like storage, platform, middleware
• Should have clear understating on continuous integration, build, release, code quality
• Good understating of load balancing, disaster recovery aspects of solutions
• Good knowledge on security aspects like authentication, authorization by using open standards like oAuth
• Hands on with coding and debugging. Should be able to write high quality code optimized for performance and scale
• Good analytical- problem solving skills and should be good with algorithms

Skills – nice to have:

• AWS (S3, lambda, api gateway, EC2, CloudFront, Route53, Dynamo DB, vpc, subnets)
• Knowledge of one API gateway e.g. Apigee/Layer 7
• ELK, Docker
• Experience in CI/CD, TDD, DevOps

Key Responsibilities

• Hands on coding/development of components maintaining high standards of timely and quality delivery
• Architect technical design of the application components and document the same
• Interact with senior architects and other consultants to understand and review the technical solution and direction
• Communicate with business analysts to discuss various business requirements
• Proactively refactor code/solution, be aggressive about tech debt identification and reduction
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot issues; and take a leading role in the ongoing support and enhancements of the applications
• Help in maintaining the standards, procedures and best practices in the team.
• Help meet prioritisation of requirements in pipeline with stakeholders

Experience and Qualification:

• B.E./ B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University
• Total 5 to 7 years of experience with application development in Java and related frameworks
