Job Description:
  • Sustaining activities for electronic control boards utilizing embedded microprocessor with analog and digital circuitry for refrigeration and residential HVAC equipment.
  • BOM Scrub on existing component data for accurate and complete manufacturer name, part number, description with RoHS compliance data and identify potential obsolescence parts
  • Perform the lifecycle analysis using the Silicon Expert tool for the list of electronics items and provide the analysis report
  • Support sourcing to locate old, obsolete or hard to procure parts when the buyers cannot find parts needed for production.
  • Review PCN s and take necessary actions proactively to mitigate the risks
  • Update the item in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM Windchill) tool through standard EC process and documentation workflow
  • Review and process Engineering Change Orders ECO / ECN
  • Drive resolving production or quality related component issues. Find suitable replacement parts, identify root cause of issue and communicate issue to the manufacturer
  • Perform root cause analysis on field failure in electronic control boards and implement design changes to assure product quality and integrity.
  • Perform component evaluation tests and product tests to ensure successful component performance in all applications/products
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering is required with 3 to 5 years of experience in Component Engineering experience in Electronics sustaining.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Component Engineering
  • Must possess a good understanding of all facets of state of the art electronic component technologies including testing methodologies and component physiologies
  • Experience in managing sustaining activities for electronics control boards (PCBA’s)
  • Experience in interacting with EMS providers across globe
  • Experience in maintaining Bill of Material (BOM), Engineering Change Control (ECN) and material cost reduction (MCR)
  • Experience with PLM (product lifecycle management) practices and PLM tools
  • Must pay attention to detail. Approach work in a meticulous and thorough manner.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes
  • Proficient in speaking and writing in English.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with circuit simulation and PADs PC board layout software is a plus.
  • Experience in the HVAC or appliance industries is a plus.
  • Experience with environmental and transient condition testing of the electronic controls is a plus.
