Job Description Summary The Systems Service Engineer works on service related functions and features for products and the cross-functional leadership to develop the product service strategy and integrate the strategy into operational practice. This role requires interaction with Product Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, Service and other GE Health Care design functions to deliver the on-going product performance, life-cycle cost (measurement and prediction) and clinical quality expected by global customers.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will-

  • Define product service strategy including installation, functional check out, monitoring, maintenance, diagnostics methodologies, troubleshooting, repair methods, repair parts and service tools.
  • Ensure design requirements incorporate the defined service strategy/serviceability, participating in design and program reviews to optimize implementation.
  • Verify and validate the product design, service documentation and service processes, using appropriate internal and external expertise, to ensure serviceability goals are met.
  • Release and distribution of repair parts, tools, documentation and processes to enable and support regional sales and service.
  • Comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent

4+ years relevant product service engineering experience or new product design and service engineering experience

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional and global project team

Good Interpersonal Skills

Demonstrated project planning ability

Demonstrated experience bringing original design from concept to product release.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent experience Field service experience Medical device design and support experience Expertise with PC based, single board computer and embedded device design and support Working knowledge of International Organization for Standardization(ISO), Final design approval(FDA) and other applicable medical device regulatory standards Familiarity with GEHC products Demonstrated success leading global technical project teams
