Software Dev Engineer I

Amazon Tax technology team is looking for individuals who can design and build world-class software. Would you like to be part of a team that is solving new business challenges through innovation and creative work?

It is Day 1 in Tax Technology, and we’re at the inception of building an entire suite of global tax solutions. You will get the opportunity to work through all the phases of software development; starting from requirements gathering, designing solutions, building new interfaces, integration with existing architectures, development and testing code, and delighting the customers with world-class software.

Responsibilities
  • You will work with a team of engineers and develop awesome software
  • You will work through all phases of the project lifecycle - requirements gathering, designing solutions, building new interfaces, integration with existing architectures, development and testing code.
  • Build scalable, highly available and resilient applications by utilizing AWS technologies like ECS, EC2, RDS/DynamoDB/RedShift, Lambda etc.
  • Develop technical solutions in tools such as Java, Angular.js, Node.js, JQuery, Python and whatever suits the problem at hand to deliver value to tax customers
  • Build iteratively using agile methodologies

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 1+ years of professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, C, C++, C#, or Python
  • 1+ years of experience in Data Structures and Algorithms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
  • Must be able to solve a complex problem on his/her own by utilizing experience and other resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with design and implementation of secure integrations with AWS services and products
