Software Engineer

Job Description Summary As a Full Stack Developer in Fleet Solutions team, you will be involved in designing, developing, integrating and verifying Cloud-based multimodality Digital Expert (DE) solution for GE Healthcare Imaging products. You will work on SaaS Web development over a polyglot PaaS substrate including the Device SW, Edge and AWS Cloud. You will work closely with Global Product Management and will be responsible for development of new software features based on requirements and within the constraints of Architecture, Platform and design guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding.
• Derive software requirements and software functional specification, validate software requirements, provide software feasibility analysis and software effort estimation.
• Participate in the software development as part of the Scrum team. Accountable for the Definition of Done for user stories - define, design, and ship new features.
• Identify potential harmony and for re-use of components / technology.
• Execute in a fast paced delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal.
• Ensure code quality, test coverage and adherence to different quality metrics.
• Involve in Integration and Verification of the Digital Expert solution on GEHC Imaging devices.
• Ensure the performance, NFR and responsiveness of applications.
• Bring rigor in software development, follow TDD/BDD and CI/CD development paradigms.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development.

• A minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in software development (Core Java, Spring Boot).

Desired Skills

• Experience in Java / Spring & NodeJS development languages and frameworks.

• Experience in SaaS development on AWS/Azure/GCP or similar PaaS substrate using GO or Java based Microservices.

• Hands-on experience in API modelling/design and development. Hands-on experience in DB – PostgreSQL or DynamoDB and database tools (JPA/Hibernate).

• Experience with modern CI/CD tooling (Gradle/Maven, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory).

• Experience in Agile development practices: Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD).

• Experience with networking protocols and tools for troubleshooting.

• Experience developing in a Containerized Linux environment.

• Nice to have exposure developing containerized applications with Docker.

• Nice to have experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell etc).

• Excellent communication skills. Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility.

• Enthusiastically follow open-source software, technology trends, software engineering best practice and technologies while enjoying the challenge of solving complex problems.
