Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider? Amazon Internet Services Private Limited (AISPL) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for world-class candidates to join its–enterprise business for India.

Roles and Responsibilities
AISPL is looking for Solutions Architects to help its customers migrate entire set ups to AWS cloud. You will be playing a key role in accelerating these customers’ cloud migration journeys. You will be asked to apply your experience in inventorying existing infra and applications, applications and/or underlying technology migration, operations and data migration and data management to build high quality migration roadmaps for a large variety of workloads. Special focus will be on the ability to help customers modernize legacy apps built on older architectures. Experience in breaking up legacy apps into modern micorservices and/or converting the underlying data to open source is essential to the role. This is a highly technical position for someone who can dive deep, build cloud-optimized architectures, scope and execute migration POCs including infra, OS, DBMS etc. The ideal candidate is as comfortable white boarding complex software architectures with a roomful of engineers as they are in rolling up their sleeves to show how migration is done.
  • Help customers inventory their existing infra and applications, gather performance data and interdependencies between the various components.
  • Help create a roadmap for AWS cloud adoption based on the above data and the customer’s business priorities and constraints
  • Apply deep apps development / modernization knowledge to help customers understand how to modernize the legacy apps and underlying databases
  • Work with the cloud economics team to craft a TCO story based on the above data and roadmap
  • Work with partners and customers and AISPL professional services teams to create high quality proposals
  • Share insights with AISPL engineering teams and professional services teams
  • Write technical papers, blog posts, and reference architectures
Role will involve travel of 1 day per week on average.
Basic Qualifications
  • Overall over 10 years of experience in hands on IT such as end user environments, implementation agencies etc.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure migration, software re-platforming, systems administration, or migration software vendor solutions for the cloud.
  • Experience in a broad set of technologies related to applications and IT infrastructure migration
  • Hands on experience in modernizing legacy apps to modern architectures and/or moving from legacy databases to open source databases
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Strong public speaking and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working with extended virtual teams who can be part of a larger migration effort
Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud and well known database technologies would be a major plus point
Preferred Qualifications

The person will work largely within the given region they are located in India and will include 30-40% of time on travel to meet customer / partner stakeholders in other cities within India. The person will report into the migration BD leader within AISPL for India.
Key result areas – the person will be measured on the following:
1 – number of large migration projects landed (signed and started though they may run their course over a period of time).
2 – number of application modernization projects landed
3 – number of migration public references created
