General Summary: This position is part of the Virtustream Cloud Security Intelligence and Operations Center team, which is responsible for supporting security in a complex multi-service, multi-cloud environment. Virtustream Security Analysts are expected to always think and act in a proactive manner with our customers’ interests in mind. They should be seeking to drive resolution of security issues and identify areas for improvement or automation. The candidate will work in a dynamic organization that is currently building and operating multiple complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a front-line Security Analyst / Shift Lead:
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic and IDS alerts
  • Analyze network and host-based security logs to determine and identify potential security threats
  • Initiate and provide incident response and triage
  • Serve on schedule for Tier-3 weekend and evening/overnight on-call shifts (US ET)
• Maintain and develop playbooks for variety of security incidents
• Use and develop Splunk and Azure Sentinel dashboards and alerts
• Work with customers and internal teams to develop appropriate security monitoring
• Collect event artifacts for audit activities
• Work weekend and evening/overnight shifts (US ET)

Requirement Details:

• Overall 7+ Years IT experience, at least 5 years of experience with different aspects of Information Security including knowledge of network, web and platform technologies, and secure application development methods.
• Knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems
• Experience with some of the following types of technologies:
  • SIEM – Splunk and Azure Sentinel preferred
  • Firewalls, both network and host based
  • Application or web content filtering
  • IDS/IPS
  • File Integrity Monitoring
• Threat Intelligence, threat hunting, and/or forensic experience
