Application Engineer – Energy Analysis

What you will do

The primary responsibility for this role is to lead Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) global projects, detailed Energy Analysis by keeping operational parameters within budget from India office. Must work on EPC on the Project Development and Measurement and Verification (M&V) activities, Energy Modeling. Co-ordination with JCI global branches for effective solution for energy conservation and energy efficiency. To lead the projects and have technical discussions with the branch engineers, maintain project quality, on time delivery, handle second level escalation.

How you will do it (Key Responsibilities)

  • Review project inputs, drawings, and specifications; should be able to capture the scope and understand the complete requirements of the project.
  • Review of Utility bills and working on Utility Analysis for EPC projects.
  • Review of BMS trend data and working on Trend Analysis for verification of operation of different control strategies etc. as per the EPC. Giving detailed insights to the client.
  • Review of Mechanical drawings, Architectural drawings, Electrical drawings, Envelope properties, etc. and creating a 3D model of a facility in eQuest software.
  • Review of EPC contract documents, Pre and Post retrofit energy measurements of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) etc. and creating Measurement & Verification (M&V) and Construction report. Working on different M&V Options as per IPMVP.
  • Review of Lighting line x line with details on energy efficient lighting retrofits/replacements throughout the facility and working on lighting rebates analysis.
  • Review of facility energy data and other basic facility information and working on energy benchmarking of the facility using Energy Star PM software.
  • Review of utility energy data, site weather data and creating for base year tuned regression models in Metrix and Option C software.
  • Working on ASHRAE level I & II site energy audits for commercial and residential buildings.
  • Co-ordination with customer and able to propose a solution for the project and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within the committed schedule and cost to meet the customer requirements.
  • Perform all project management activities like project review/Kick-Off meetings, maintaining timesheets, on time deliveries, quality assurance etc.
  • Helping estimation team for critical estimation support.
  • Mentor and train project team members and closely work with manager to provide necessary trainings based on gap.
  • Weekly/Monthly customer reporting for project progress.
  • Keep operational parameters at desired level for all assigned projects.
  • Active participation in organization employee engagement initiatives.

What we look for

  • BE/ME/M.tech (Mechanical/ Instrumentation / Electrical / Energy Mgmt.)
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience as Energy Analyst in Buildings sector.
  • One who understands the complex interaction between building and HVAC, lighting, and other systems in buildings. One who has experience in energy (Electrical & Thermal) management, energy analysis, energy benchmarking, and energy modeling. The candidate would be required to act as a consultant providing consultancy services mainly in the field of EPC.
  • Energy Audit (ASHRAE Level I & II) and energy conservation measures for buildings’ experience.
  • Must be a quick learner & should have a keen eye for problem solving.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) life cycle experience will be preferred.
  • eQuest Energy Modeling experience will be preferred.
  • Measurement & Verification (M&V) experience will be preferred.
  • BEE India CEM/CEA, PMVA from EVO will be preferred.
