Technical Product Owner

Role Purpose:

At Jumio, you will work for the market leader in online identity verification that is helping to make the digital world a safer place for everyone. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own our Machine Learning (ML) data platforms, tools and infrastructure that optimize the developer experience (DX) of ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts while enforcing privacy and security by design.

Role Value:

The ML Infrastructure Technical PO is responsible for driving the building of a highly scalable development and deployment infrastructure that ensures fast ML cycles, strong security and privacy. You own a core infrastructure that underpins the velocity of Jumio AI innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Build, edit, and maintain the backlog of the ML Infrastructure Team, a cross-functional system team working on a highly technical product for developers; this includes authoring specifications and acceptance criteria, balancing DX and non-functional requirements, prioritizing based on impact, complexity and dependencies
• Champion DX to shape the product strategy and implementation roadmap
• Dive into technical details and ask insightful questions to engineers, both users and developers of the ML infrastructure, as well as to architects to shape the services you drive
• Manage dependencies and identify risks
• Ensure the Agile team always has clarity on what they are developing and why
• Identify accelerating technologies and enablers to keep your product at the forefront of efficiency, security and reliability

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years professional experience in software engineering, ML, technical leadership or product owner role in an agile environment
• Bachelor in software engineering, ML or equivalent professional experience
• Strong technical background with experience in cloud architecture
• Precise understanding of ML development cycle
• Knowledge of privacy by design
• Familiarity with DevSecOps methodology
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
• Very articulate spoken and written communication

Great to have Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience developing or PM’ing ML solutions and tooling, particularly the AWS Sagemaker suite (or its Google equivalent)
• Experience developing or PM’ing data engineering solutions
• Knowledge of DevOps technologies
• Experience with SAFe
