Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role, implying that the position is located in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, but some remote work is acceptable. The 2nd Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the engines and technical systems of a vessel and assisting the Chief Engineer in managing the ship’s equipment and machinery. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and identify, investigate, and resolve any technical problems that may arise at sea.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field OR a certificate of competency as a Second Engineer STCW A-III/2
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of vessel machinery, equipment, and systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of four-stroke and two-stroke engines and associated systems such as auxiliary diesel generators, boilers, pumps, and deck machinery
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Valid Medical Certificate
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Elementary First Aid (STCW A-VI/1-3)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (STCW A-VI/1-4)
