About Alstom In India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Overall Purpose Of The Role

APSYS Leader will
  • Champion and lead site Lean activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee Lean transformation as per Alstom Roadmap.


Responsibilities
  • To advance a culture of continuous improvement, integrate Lean philosophy into operating and management development programs.
  • Identify, Scope, Lead, and Implement process improvement projects at site.
  • Provide direction and guidance in all areas of Lean methodology and act as a key driver of change supporting all functions throughout the company’s Lean transformation.
  • Manage kaizen events
  • Works with Site Management team to incorporate Lean metrics into key performance indicators (KPI’s) and process control metrics (PCM’s) and deploying it into the Lean Management System.
  • Implementation of lean tools like Value Stream Mapping, competency management, 5S, Design for Manufacturability.
  • Lean training a& coaching to the site team.
  • Facilitate QRQC and Mentor root cause and counter measure techniques.

    Qualifications & Skills

    EDUCATION
  • B.E. (Mechanical) from a reputed college with 7 – 10 years’ experience with at least 3 years’ experience as an organization’s dedicated Lean Leader.
  • Extensive implementation experience with the following techniques is required: 5S, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), production leveling techniques such as Heijunka, Visual Workplace, Standardized Work, Cellular Manufacturing, Kaizen, Single Piece Flow and Pull, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Good training skills .

  • Training budget setting and control.
  • Can use “tools” of maintenance performance improvement (LCC, RCM, workshop load balancing etc)


Experience / Skill Set
  • 15 years’ experience in the industry or engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in training
  • Knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications…) would be a strong asset.
  • Experience of the full training lifecycle - from concept through to implementation and facilitation
  • Certification as a SDF a recommendation.
  • Certification as an Assessor recommendation.
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
  • Presentation skills.
  • Adept at using both traditional and modern training methods (e-learning, on-the-job training, classroom based,coaching, workshops etc.)
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
  • IT Skills: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
