The Role

To facilitate remote support to SHELL assets in maintaining Alarm Management KPI’s by performing activities such as Alarm Rationalization, carrying out HMI/Logic Updates, Alarm philosophy Review, Facilitating ISU session to Asset engineers, Master Alarm Database (MAD) Review & Audit, etc. To identify improvement areas in the operational aspect of alarm management. The role exposes the incumbent to Subject Matter Experts from Control Systems, Process, Production engineering as well as to asset engineers.

  • Carrying out DynAMo deployment in Assets.
  • Be accountable in updating & reviewing the healthiness of Master Alarm Database.
  • Be accountabe to provide guidance to Asset Engineers in Alarm Managemnent Philosophy.
  • To facilitate Initial SetUp (ISU) sessions & develop Asset Alarm Improvement Plan.
  • Be accountable for implementation of rationalized alarms.
  • Assist assets in reviewing alarm limits & provide guidance as required.
  • To be accountable for carrying out audits of control system alarms against master alarm database for GAP analysis.
  • Network with counterparts and other levels of organization across the different operating units, data centers and develop external networks outside of TAO and Shell.
  • Supporting team members in project to enhance their technical knowledge
  • Shift work following operating hours of the upstream production sites. Resilient under pressure and able to work with people different culture and working style.
Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience with Alarm Rationalization is desired.
  • Experience in Honeywell DynAMo ACM manager is preferrable.
  • Experience in Honeywell/Yokogawa/Emerson control systems is required.
  • Sound understanding of ISA 18.2 & IEC 62682 is preferred.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas / Chemicals Sector is required.
  • Experience in HMI/Loop design in preferred.
  • Knowledge of APC (Advances Process Control) is preferrable.
  • Experience or Knowledge in Universal Tag Locator (UTL) application is preferrable.
  • Sound understanding on SIF/SIL is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task the miscellaneous projects.
