ABOUT THE ROLE

• Purpose is seeking an Associate Manager of Impact, Measurement and Learning with a commitment to our mission to join our internationally diverse Strategy team. This person will develop and deliver strategy workstreams, collaborate closely with our creative and campaigning teams, work with partners, and contribute to business development.
• You should have approximately 5-8 years work experience, ideally with a strategy background from an agency—digital, creative, and/or PR - as well as experience conducting measurement & evaluation in a non-profit, advocacy, or social impact context. This role requires a high bar for quality and rigor, a demonstrated track record and/or interest in social sector organizing and advocacy, and preferably client-facing experience.

• The role reports to the IML Directors and is based in Purpose’s India office. This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of £34,000- £49,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

• RESEARCH / Drives development and refinement of hypotheses to design research question(s) and structure/plan across multiple workstreams; conducts strong research, with guidance and feedback.
• ANALYSIS / Develops clear and concise analysis, results and conclusions across multiple workstreams; and is able to position the analysis in the context of the overall project, with guidance and feedback.

• STRATEGY & PROBLEM SOLVING

• STRATEGY & RECOMMENDATIONS DEVELOPMENT / Translates from research
• PARTICIPATION STRATEGY / Understand and apply participation / grassroots strategy (coalition building, organizing, study of human behavior) COMMUNICATION
• STRUCTURE / Develops overall compelling project storyline and logical frameworks, and identify the appropriate communication format, with guidance and feedback
• WRITTEN / Creates clear and compelling slides/emails/memos that integrate with relevant workstreams, and overall storyline and project, with guidance and feedback.
• VERBAL / Condently presents and facilitates discussion of own work products to client contacts and wider client stakeholders in a clear and well-structured manner; is able to apply diverse audience perspectives in framing; use of logical persuasion; and able to engage in related and broader project context discussion and questions.

• CLIENT ENGAGEMENT

• RELATIONSHIP BUILDING / Builds relationships and facilitates collaboration with multiple client contacts; maintains positive relationships even under difficult circumstances; sensitive to impacts decisions have on the client and team.
• ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT / Cognizant of potential client management impacts of issues related to their work, and may provide client management support on smaller projects.
• BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT /Proactively supports business development opportunities, including developing an approach to a client prospect’s challenge, and participating in BD meetings.

ABOUT YOU

• Based in India, preferably Delhi or Mumbai.
• 5-8 years of full time work experience in an evaluation or research-centric role.
• Demonstrated track record and/or interest in social sector organizing and advocacy
• Passion, a sharp mind, high integrity, a hands-on attitude, and an entrepreneurial, problem-solving spirit
• Strategy background from an agency—digital, creative, and/or PR - as well as experience in conducting measurement & evaluation in a non-profit, advocacy, or social impact context.
• High bar for quality, rigor and integrity.
• Design thinking or ability to communicate
• Bilingual fluency in a foreign language is a plus. We’re particularly looking for candidates with Hindi language skills.
