J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management’s Portfolio Analysis Group ("PAG") is responsible for performance measurement and portfolio analytics for external clients and serves as a value-added source of independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients including portfolio managers, front office advisors, sales & marketing and senior management. Analysis types and activities include, but are not limited to, rate of return calculations, return attribution, risk analytics, competitive analysis and composite construction. This analysis is instrumental to help external clients understand drivers of return in their portfolios and help us internally measure the effectiveness of our products and strategies.

Position Summary
USPB/WM PAG seeks a Project Manager that will partner with Technology, Product, and Compliance, Controls and Global PAG to implement strategic solutions on various aspects of US Private Bank (USPB) and Wealth Management (USWM) wide initiatives to streamline the investment review process. PAG’s strategic initiatives are critical to the success of delivering strategic and tactical investment advice to clients, as it will be a measure of our added value. The main focus will be projects related to core investment performance in our strategic system, increased automation and STP to achieve efficiencies and ensuring that operating model enhancements are globally consistent when possible and aligned with the PAG Target Operating Model strategy. The goal will be to improve the accuracy of data currently in place and to expand the breadth of analysis and reporting to be competitive in nature, increasing investor efficiency and revenue opportunities.

The Vice President role will be to lead end to end project management including identification of project milestones, defining test plans, tracking progress, daily/weekly status updates, governance, escalation and communication. They will also be partnering closely with Business, CDO, PAG and Technology stakeholders in documenting core business requirements, leading working group sessions, defining test scripts, documenting change management control forms and assisting with testing and implementation efforts through various phases of the project life cycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting USWM and USPB strategic initiatives including but not limited to: data adoption and integration of SACH, Product Master and IBEX, rollout of digital performance offerings, composites, account attribution, JPMA Sparta migration and driving ongoing automation and scalability of the operating model.
  • Involvement with regulatory or controls deliverables and supporting other ad hoc projects as needed
  • Identifying the project scope and key milestones, researching background, assessing risks and designing test procedures
  • Prioritizing project deliverables, tracking progress, escalating risks and holding stakeholders accountable for action items
  • Providing various ad hoc data research and analysis as needed
  • Assisting in developing strategic solutions and defining PAG business requirements
  • Defining test scripts and documenting testing evidence
  • Maintaining project scorecards/key metrics for senior management
  • Assisting with all aspects of managing the implementation process and production support
  • Participating in UAT and Production testing as needed
  • Assisting with logging and tracking defects and improvements that are identified during testing cycles
  • Coordinating prioritization of bugs/enhancements and maintaining backlogs post project implementation
  • Planning for future deliverables on the roadmap and facilitating design review sessions as needed
  • Keeping a risk and control mindset throughout project life cycle

Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and deliver results (under tight time frames and pressure)
  • Experience with portfolio performance, investments and/or products, and project management skills preferred
  • 10-15 years work experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to document and communicate complex, at times quantitative, business requirements and business analysis to our technology counterparts
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, and writing skills. Candidate must be comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading discussions/presenting
  • Action oriented with a focus on results and an innovative mindset
  • Highly motivated, proactive and self-starter
  • Ability to work well on a global integrated team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
