Cloud Architect

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect position is for a technical hands-on Architect who can assist in planning, designing and executing the migration of on-premises to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and its management.

You will be a part of a team that focuses on enabling our client’s end-to-end journey from on-premises to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of Cloud Strategy, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration and Lift and Shift, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. Job Description

• Perform OCI migration planning, designing and implementation
• Perform administration of OCI virtualization systems using native Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, performing analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting
• Perform activities that include creating and decommissioning systems as part of administration activities
• Work with the application, server, and database engineers to perform necessary troubleshooting activities and perform tuning and scaling activities
• Assist with migration of environments as necessary across datacenters and assist with Cloud-based initiatives
• Responsible for systems maintenance, system upgrades, infrastructure design and layout, DR design and implementation, hypervisor installation, and maintenance, physical to virtual migrations, and hypervisor server hardening
• Train users on applications and OS fundamentals for virtual infrastructure within OCI
• Experience in OCI-C to OCI is a must
• 5+ years of cloud engineering experience with Oracle Public Cloud (OCI)
• OCI certified associate architect/professional is a must

Qualifications

• Enterprise Cloud Migration - Possess experience in a variety of cloud deployment models and experience with migrating on-premise to cloud, specifically OCI. Other Cloud experiences such as AWS, Azure and GCP are added advantages
• Scripting - Be able to automate the migration and standard tasks via scripting, when required
• Integration Architecture - Understand how to integrate data into a specific IT architecture, specifically OCI Databases and Big Data and understand fundamentals and applications of concepts in relation to data migration and standup of infrastructure in OCI
• Networking - Have demonstrated experience using VLANs, troubleshooting tools such as IP, NetStat, SSH and Telnet as well as how to harden a system using firewalld/iptables and hosts.allow
• Operating Systems - Have a knowledge of Linux and Linux based hypervisor technologies such as XEN, KVM, etc
• Experience in Windows Server-based operating systems
• User Management - Be able to manage a large pool of local users through the command line, understand fundamentals of userID and groupID management in Linux systems and have a fundamental understanding of directory services for Linux such as Redhat Enterprise Authentication and IPA. Understand the fundamentals of managing users in Windows Active Directory
• System Hardening - Have exposure to or understanding of the DISA STIG or its commercial equivalent and be able to demonstrate experience in system hardening and auditing Linux and Linux based systems
• Virtualization - Have demonstrated ability using VMWare, Oracle VM and KVM hypervisors, and be able to maintain and build systems from templates or scratch via system ISO files. Must be able to adapt to migrating from these technologies to the Oracle OCI / IaaS
