What you’ll do

The Scrum Master is a servant-leader for the Scrum Team helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. The Scrum Master helps those outside the Scrum Team understand their interactions with the Scrum Team.

  • Supporting the Product Owner and Development Team to deliver value.
  • Guiding and Coaching the Scrum Team and the organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
  • Guiding and Coaching the Scrum Team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Helping to refine and groom the Product Backlog with the Product Owner.
  • Assessing the agile maturity of the team and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Removing impediments (people, process or tools) that hinders agility within the team.
  • Building a safe environment to stimulate innovation.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, and improving transparency leveraging visual dashboarding to keep information up to date.
  • Manage stakeholders outside the team as required

Responsibilities

Overall professional responsibilities include ability to:

  • Work with internal teams, and clients to develop and implement long term and short-term engagement objectives and work plan
  • Think through a solution lens and work with clients’ and Deloitte’s teams to deliver engagements
  • Perform data analysis, industry insight generation, design and blueprint of operating models
  • Lead small client and internal teams to understand, design, enhance, confirm and deliver objectives of the engagement
  • Work in alignment with the internal and client teams to ensure a streamlined delivery model with seamless integration of the final deliverable across modules
  • Communicate, analyze, recommend and provide crisp updates in both written and oral forms of communication to both internal and client leadership
  • Demonstrate good report writing skills and prepare final deliverables
  • Assist senior members of the team in responding to client requests, RFPs and problem statements with business proposals
  • Build the relationship between Deloitte and the client’s project teams

Skills & Requirements

  • Scrum Master certifications (PSM I, CSM, PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC.)
  • Total overall experience of 6-9 years. In this overall experience, should have played the Scrum Master role for at least 2-4 years for a Scrum Team
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Nexus, LeSS, SAFe, DevOps etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Software development background is an advantage
  • Willingness for long term international or domestic travel
