The Credit Bureau Disputes Analyst is responsible for processing, resolving, and responding to customer disputes related to credit bureau reporting. The agent acts as a liaison between the company and credit bureaus on regulatory updates and maintains a good relationship with the credit bureaus. The analyst responds to all disputes (direct and indirect) by conducting a reasonable investigation that is in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act and CDIA Credit Reporting Resource Guide (Metro 2). The agent ensures confidential, sensitive information and data of the company is secured and disposed of in accordance with company policies and guidelines. In addition to the day to day volumes, this role interacts with Office of the President (complaints) Fraud, Collections and Credit Operations, Compliance, and/or Legal to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and to help minimize any risk that would be associated to Barclays by abiding by the company’s policies and procedures.

What will you be doing?

  • Respond to consumer requests through written correspondence in accordance with Federal regulations related to the Fair Credit Reporting Act along with specific state requirements.
  • Research customer credit bureau report disputes to ensure Barclays is reporting accurately and correct any reporting errors to ensure that regulations and requirements from both a federal and state level are applied.
  • Where applicable, all risk events (incidents) or control failures to be escalated, investigated, reported and fixed at root cause to prevent reoccurrence
  • Makes outbound calls as necessary to customers to clarify a customer dispute
  • Makes outbound calls as necessary to the consumer reporting agencies
  • Consistently meet performance standards set by the department
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for process improvements to the department or company
  • Update and respond to Credit Reporting Agencies via eOSCAR timely and accurately
  • Interpret and analyse consumer’s written communications.
  • Maintain the integrity of the database by ensuring data quality and accuracy.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in analysing detailed business requirements
  • Working knowledge of US Regulatory requirements, specifically data furnishing
  • Experience in applying advanced problem solving/analytical skills
  • Proficient in TSYS
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
  • CDIA Data Furnisher Certified
  • Flexible to work in US Shift Hours
