What you’ll bring

General:
  • Engineering Degree or relevant equivalent experience. Industry certifications a plus (CCNA, MCSE, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, and communications.
  • Working knowledge of Intel and/or HP/Sun based computing hardware and related equipment.

How you will lead

  • A core member of an IT support team operating the Intuit Operations Center (IOC).12 x 7 shift-based operational environments providing level 1-2 response to alarms from Network, Servers, and Application system errors.
  • Works on moderately complex assignments where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
  • Monitors service and incident requests and assigns or resolves tickets as appropriate.
  • Responses to monitoring alerts per defined playbooks and procedures
  • Configuration of monitoring agents and the development of meaningful alerts and the escalation procedures
  • Work well with customers, peers, and management within functional areas of CE&O and/or IOC.
  • Monitor Real Time Dashboards for showing overall health of the system
  • Metrics reporting on applications performance, availability, reliability, etc.
  • Suggestions for process improvements and enhanced operational efficiencies
  • Update of Technical escalation documentation (Run Book), documentation on supported applications & operational tools.
  • Follows IT standards and policies for workflow.
  • Engages vendors for onsite repair where applicable.
  • Provides Hardware Break/Fix solutions for technology assets where applicable.
  • Completion of routine service and incident requests within Service Level Objectives.
  • Develops strong cooperative relationships within the IT Tech Group and with other support and IT Teams.
  • Consistently contributes knowledge and content to support organization and shares knowledge with other techs to facilitate professional and technical development.
  • Applying Systematic problem-solving method for incident resolution.
  • Applies basic scripting skills (e.g. Perl, Windows Command Shell, DOS, Visual Basic, etc.)
  • Drive & Triage of high priority major incidents (P1 & P2 including P3 & P4)
  • Participation in Incident Analysis Process (IAP)
  • Facilitation of Incident Analysis processes for a specific application/infrastructure component
  • Facilitate the creation of the Operational readiness documents
  • Review and development of performance and capacity plans (operational capacity and load requirements)
  • Specifications for onboarding new offerings, including trouble shooting, patch processes, cross-organizational incident management processes, security breach response plans, etc.
  • Implementation plans for application disaster recovery, migration, roll-back plans, expansion, routine deployments, and system upgrades.
  • Demonstrate Automation mindset by automating mundane tasks
  • Presentations at internal events and sharing knowledge with the team
  • Work well with customers, peers, and management within functional areas of CE&O and/or IOC.
  • Shift management and shift roster design [Ability to play the shift lead role]
  • Mentoring and coaching of new team members
  • Contribute to change and problem management
