Role Description


Job Purpose


Ø Bridge between the Factory management and employees of Maintenance Team to ensure reliability

Ø Preparation of preventive/predictive maintenance plan and execution of same through Executives.

Ø Analysis of all failure/breakdowns in the plant and find the root cause to propose and implement CAPA.

Ø Purchasing of spares/consumables as per the requirement and maintain optimum inventory in the engineering stores.

Ø Compliance to the statutory requirements like Annual Inspection of Boiler, Pressure vessels, Lifting tools and tackles etc.,

Ø Monitoring of spare/consumables expenses and implement action plans to reduce the overhead expenses through innovative ideas.

Ø Training and development of technicians and executives.

Key Performance Indicators


1) Ensure continuous running of the plant by adherence to below subject
/Preventive maintenance, Proactive maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance, to reduce breakdown and increase availability

- Review of preventive maintenance schedule

- Identify the root cause for failure

- Implementation of suitable corrective and preventive action

- Review of the engineering personnel w.r.to day to day activities.

- Regular interaction with the team member to check compliance

2) ISO 9000, 14000, and 45000

- Adherence to laid down procedure

- Updation of records as required

- Interaction with plant to understand and to ensure common practice is followed.

3) Management of Spares and overhead budgeting.

- Interacting with vendor for the spares, negotiation, and other technical discussion.

- Vendor development, evaluation and selection

- Release of Annual maintenance contract to maintain the equipment, review of AMC vendor.

- Review and approve minimum spares inventory of critical consumables.

4) Energy Management

- Ensuring optimal efficiency in the running of critical prime production equipment / utilities

- Work towards implementing energy efficient technologies wherever applicable in his work domain

- Monitor fuel consumed in critical utilities like boiler, DG set and ensure targets w.r.t Specific fuel consumption are met

5) Contractor management

- Vendor assessment for service provided

- Cost control and manpower control

- Ensuring statutory compliance by the contractor.

6) Capex implementation

- Proposing the capex budget along with the user dept after planning

- Execution of the capex

- Review progress of capex projects assigned to him

7) Cost monitoring

- Review of Overhead cost against budget in his work area

- Reporting the compliance and in case of any overshoot, Mitigation to be planned.

8) Networking /Liaising and statutory compliance

- Review of the schedule

- Planning and execution of the statutory requirement

- Maintaining the certificates as required by the statutory authority

- Reporting deviations if any and plan for mitigation of the risk.

9) Operating and Maintenance of Utility

- Review of the critical parameters such as power consumed, water consumption,etc.

- Check and ensure qualified personnel are running the utility.

· Direct Reportee : 5-6 and indirect reporting approx 35

c) Geography Coverage (Country-wide/ State-wide / Area-wide)

· India

Internal

· All departments of the plant and Corporate. Audit and finance function.

· Vendors, Statutory authority, Consultants. Etc

Role Requirements / Specifications


Qualifications

Essential
· BE – ( Mechanical)

Previous Experience

Essential
· Should have atleast 10 years of Industrial experience of Maintenance in continuous process chemical / petrochemical industries.
· Exposure in maintenance of High / low speed rotary equipment, utilities
Desired
· Experience in operation and maintenance centrifuges, heat exchangers, cooling towers, utilities and distillation columns.
· Exposure in operation , maintenance of boiler / Captive power plant

Functional Competencies

· Sound engineering knowledge in thermal engineering, centrifugal machines, cooling towers heat exchangers and utilities.
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Understanding of production processes
